Gold Kiwifruit Smoothie

Published: Aug 7, 2025 by The Gold and Grain · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

Gold kiwifruit has become an unexpected favourite fruit in our home over winter. Packed with vitamin C, these cute little packages of goodness are a yummy snack and also make a delicious smoothie. This gold kiwifruit smoothie is the quickest way to satisfy the kids after school, when all they want to do is eat everything in sight!

Bananas are full of potassium and fibre, makes this smoothie delicious and great for you. Bananas help keep you fuller for longer, making them an ideal choice for breakfast.

Gold kiwi fruit is available from autumn to winter, sometimes a little longer.

Check out my blueberry and cashew nut smoothie, another great breakfast smoothie.

Ingredients

smoothie ingredients
  • gold kiwi fruit - this fruit is sweet and tasty
  • banana - adds to the texture and flavour of the smoothie
  • Greek yoghurt - full of protein, its also creamy so adds a lovely texture to the smoothie
  • cinnamon - this warming spice pairs nicely with kiwifruit and banana

See recipe card for quantities.

Instructions

ingredients in a blender
  1. Step 1: Put all the ingredients into a Nutri bullet, or similar blender
smoothie served in a glass
  1. Step 2: Blitz, then pour out into glasses

Hint: peel and chop up bananas and keep them in the freezer in an airtight container. It's easy to add chunks of bananas to smoothies that way, and it freezing minimises food waste.

Substitutions and Variations

Smoothies are made for experimenting, here are a few changes you can make that are delicious;

  • Frozen banana - using frozen bananas makes this smoothie colder and a little icier, great in summer!
  • Maple - swap out the honey for maple syrup
  • Protein powder - add you favourite protein powder to this smoothie, I love adding collagen powder too
  • Coconut water - I mostly use filtered water for smoothies, but coconut water is a great alternative, especially if you need the added electrolytes

Equipment

The Nutri bullet is one of the most used pieces of equipment in my kitchen. I use it for so many things, its quick and easy. If you need an easy tool to blitz and blend, you'll love the Nutri bullet.

Storage

This smoothie is best consumed immediately, but you can freeze it into cubes to blend up at a later date. This will create an icier and colder smoothie.

Top Tip

Gold kiwifruit and bananas blend up in a smoothie best when they are ripe and a bit soft. This also increases their sweetness.
